Day 17: GAETI- Digital Storytelling with Flat Stanley Video Production Finalization, Exploring Culture Through Art, Lesson Plan Development: Incorporation of All Learning StSyles Development of Lecture PowerPoint Creation of Lesson Activities/Assessments

Today I really learned a lot about Digital Storytelling, through trial and error. I feel as if though I am an expert now.  I thought I had recorded the video in segments, I DIDN'T!!  I recorded the whole thing as a video.   I was pausing the video as I was recording instead of stopping it.  Dr. Beriswill assisted my partner and I with instruction on how to correct the situation.  It worked out well, we were able to produce, share and publish our document. I also put some of the final touches on my art project today.  I am really proud that I have accomplished so much today.  I also worked on my lesson plan.  I some more work to do but I am a lot further along than I anticipated.  My day ended with a Skype session with a lady from Taiwan.  She shared with us information about Taiwan.  One of the things that she considered as one of Taiwan's greatest asset is the 7-11 convenient store which is open 24 hours a day for 7 days.  There were a lot of stores that are open 24/7 in Taiwan.  It was 12;00 midnight and there were lots of people who were out on the streets in Taiwan.  This was interesting. I surprised to see a book store open at 12:00 midnight. She informed us that this came about as a result of an accident that happened. She said that he store owners doors wouldn't close, so they decided to stay in the store for the night and as a result people came in and were buying items.  The store owners realized that they were making more money because people were buying more at night and decided to keep the concept going.  The lady also shared with us a PowerPoint and a video that highlighted the best things in Taiwan. The video listed the 10 best  things in Taiwan, it was also titled Taiwan Mixes Urban Nature.  I really enjoyed the Skype session, it was interesting to see the culture of Taiwan. It was 5:30 a.m. in Taiwan and 4:30 p.m. in Starkville.
