Day 5: GAETI 2018

Today was a bitter sweet day.  It was so much fun for me.  Mrs. Jillian Smart started off with a presentation on character and content.  She shared with us fixed and growth mindsets.  I had so much fun working with my group completing our group projects.  We were favored with lunch by Dr. Bracey and her boss.  The art projects turned out wonderfully.  The end results were amazing. The presentations from the GAETI participants were outstanding.  Dr. Bracey is to commended for a job WELL DONE!!

Day 4: GAETI 2018

Today has been an awesome day at GAETI.  I finished painting my project and I think it turned out pretty good.  I enjoyed Dr. Bracey as always. She shared with us about Homelessness and what we can do if we encounter Homeless students in our schools.  I always kept food for students that wanted it but I never though about it in the way in which she presented it.  I have a new outlook on Homelessness and what I can do to help. I will do more this year to help those in need.

Day 3: GAETI 2018

Conference Poster
Today started off great with a presentation by Mrs. Stephanie Agnew.  The presentation was on Conference Poster Design using MS Publisher.  I learned a lot from this presentation. There are many features to publisher that I didn't know about.  I use publisher to create documents for church, weddings and other events.  Learning the new information will help me to create more professional looking documents. I am so excited and eager about using the new skills and features that I learned today.  I enjoyed    creating and designing my Conference Poster.

Dr. Elizabeth Downey gave us some valuable information on how to identify fake news. This was an interesting topic.  I have been concerned about this very topic because there are always news articles that pop up on my phone that just seemed unreal.  Now, I am able to identify if the news is fake by using the tools that she gave us.  I will use this information in my ELA classroom. This will allow my students to be aware of fake news.

The presentation by Dr. Dee Dee Baldwin on Branching out: Starting a family tree with Ancestry.com was very interesting and informative.  It was amazing seeing and hearing the reaction of some of the participants when they were able to find family members.  One of the participants found out that her great grandmother had 17 children.  It was hilarious! Her reaction was priceless.

My art project is coming along nicely.  I finished drawing my design on my board.  I started painting the design in the colors that were on the original design.  My tiles have been dipped so they can be fired.  I am eager to complete my project because I'm ready to see the final product

Dr. Lee is doing an awesome job of teaching Web Design Basics. I have learned so much.  I will be using the information to design web pages for my personal use.

GAETI is EXCITING!

Day 2: GAETI 2018

I have really enjoyed the presentations today.  I have learned a lot from the presenters.  Dr. Lee taught us how to use Adobe Spark to make a video presentation. He did a great job at explaining the steps of making a video.  I will use this to create videos to teach lessons to my students.  Stephanie Agnew presentation on Presentation and Delivery was awesome.  She shared with us on how to professionally make a presentation and how to deliver content in a timely manner. She also shared with us resources that are available at the Library.   I'm so happy that I'm moving along with my art project without any problems.  I enjoy the Art class because it is like therapy. I like the project that we are creating in class.  I'm researching projects that are similar, so that I can use the project as a major assignment in my class. The 3-d printing presentation by Mr. was interesting. The last presentation given by Dr. Lee on web design helped me on how to code and develop a web page using editing tools and html.

Day ! GAETI 2018

Today has been an awesome day at GAETI 2018.  It was refreshing to see old GAETI participants.  I also enjoyed meeting participants from other GAETI sessions.  Today's presentations were awesome.  Mr. and Mrs. Funchess presented on the music in the classroom.  In Mrs. Latham's  art, I started on my sgraffito.  I was able to print out, trace and carve out my tiles for my six scene sgraffito project. The name of my project is How to Find the Central Idea of a Passage.  Reggie Ware ended the day with a presentation on Practical Classroom Management Strategies.  Mr. Ware was enthusiastic, amusing, entertaining and knowledgeable of the content it which he presented.  All of the presentations today were informative and educational.  I will definitely use what I learned today in my class for the upcoming year.

GAETI Day 22:

Today was the last day of my GAETI experience and it has been great!  Today I learned a lot from the presenters.  I will use the information to enhance my teaching and assist in providing a positive learning experience for my students.  The information that I received today will help my educational institution.

GAETI Day 21:

I enjoyed my follow up session at GAETI today.   It was good seeing my GAETI family. We had a lot of catching up to do.  There were ideas, strategies and testimonials shared that were beneficial and I plan to use them in my class.
